I recently logged in to my wp-admin and found that there was an update for “The Events Calendar” to go to 3.1. I clicked to update and everything seemed to go normally… but now I get an Internal Server Error when I try to go to wp-admin. If I manually disabled the-events-calendar, I can log back in. I tried disabling all plugins, then enabling only the-events-calendar and the same thing happened. I Deleted the plugin (using wp-admin) and then reinstalled it… same problem. I switched to the default WordPress 2013 theme and it made no difference. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

FYI, I just upgraded from PHP 5.3 to 5.4 and it seems to have solved the issue.

You probably had a really old PHP version (prior to 5.2) or your PHP binaries got corrupted. Glad you got it fixed!
