    Hi,

    I’m sure this has been asked before, but I’ve searched, reviewed the new user primer, looked through the technical docs, and I just can’t find anything that describes what I should do to update this addon. I expected to find a link to install/update instructions in the release notes (would be nice), but no luck. There are great videos explaining how to INSTALL the product – I’ve already got it installed and need to UPDATE it.

    Should I delete the current version before installing the new version?
    Should I simply copy (merge) the new files over the old files?
    Are there any database changes that I need to be aware of?

    While _most_ WordPress plugins are updated in a consistent manner, there are some exceptions. Is this one of the exceptions?

    Hi, KLC. This is a great question. 🙂

    First, we always encourage user to make a complete backup of their site before updating plugins. Please take the time to do this in case anything unexpected happens after the update is complete.

    When updating to the newest version of WooCommerce Tickets, you should be prompted automatically, assuming you have your license key installed. Otherwise, you’ll want to rename the plugin’s folder in your backend file manager, and then upload the new version using the admin interface. (The admin interface will not allow you to overwrite the folder of the existing plugin.)

    All the data is kept in the database, so you don’t have to worry about losing data when updating the plugin versions.
