ParticipantI have a staging site that is getting behind on matching events with my live site.
I need to play catch up and was hoping there is a way to import in mass
all the events rather than just entering them manually.
Because I’m using StageCoach and when i am done revamping I want to just
reverse the site to be live but can’t if its months behind.
Any ideas? Solutions? Insights!July 29, 2016 at 7:34 am #1145536Geoff
MemberHey there, @awakeninghearts — nice to see you again. 🙂
There are a number of good third-party plugins that will help mirror all the content of one site to another. For example, WP Migrate Pro is a pretty powerful option.
If you’re only interesting in moving events from site to site, then you might want to check out our iCal Importer plugin. That will allow one site to automatically import the events from the other site on a scheduled, recurring basis.
Will either of these options work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantGeoff…Thanks for getting back to me. So when you say with ical importer it will update events on a recurring scheduled basis. I can update all the events on my Calendar live site to my staging and then keep it updated by having a daily schedule to update?
Would you recommend that over the MigratePro? Would WP Migrate Pro update any changes
in my whole WP site vs iCal Importer just updating Tribe Calendar posts? Thanks…D

MemberGood question! If you’re looking to keep the entire site mirrored, then I would definitely suggest an option like WP Migrate Pro.
iCal Importer is great for importing events from one place to another, but not so much for syncing information.

ParticipantMy friend who maintains a Tribe Cal site said WP Migrate Pro didn’t import the events properly. Images didn’t migrate nor did recurring events.
So with iCal Importer will it do everything new at once or just one at a time what you tell it?
Will it bring over all images and recurring info etc. Whats the distinction from Updating on a
recurring basis and syncing information?Thanks…Doug
Again I am just wanting to catch up the Calendar changes on the live site to the staging site.
So they are the same when I make the staging Live.-

MemberHi Doug, thanks for following up!
So with iCal Importer will it do everything new at once or just one at a time what you tell it?
Will it bring over all images and recurring info etc. Whats the distinction from Updating on a
recurring basis and syncing information?iCal Importer is great for a one-time import but syncing changes to events once they’re made is not something it was designed to do.
Again I am just wanting to catch up the Calendar changes on the live site to the staging site.
So they are the same when I make the staging Live.Exactly, which is why a database migration tool–whether it is WP Migrate Pro or another solution–is what you likely want to consider.
I hope this helps!
