Horizontal Layout + Default State Open ….. does not work

With Filter Bar, when I select the horizontal layout and set the default state to open, it does not work. See image for settings and for what appears. I would expect default state open to show the drop-down boxes, but it does not. Users are forced to make extra clicks. How to fix?

This is actually the default behaviour and options will be shown on click indeed. Using JavaScript is possible to ‘open’ the options once the page has loaded, would you be interested in such solution? If so, please send me the URL where I can see this online and I’ll craft the code for you.
