MemberThis was working beautifully when I first purchased PRO. put a ZERO (0) in the field and it displayed “FREE” in the Cost Field. Now I have no Cost FIELD even when I phave a “0” in the field. I have two months of events entered with a “0” in it and haven’t modified any coding or anything (I wouldn’t know how…) I just use I use ECP out of the box….
I really need help fixing this immediately as we are a seminar marketing company and people won’t come to our seminars if they are not FREE!January 31, 2012 at 11:11 am #14467Rob
MemberHi there Shawn. There hasn’t been a new release of the plugin since 2.0.3, so my guess is that if something has changed without you needing to update the plugin it was caused by either your theme or another plugin that you’ve got active. To confirm this, I just created a new event in the 2.0.3 code base and it showed up as is intended – entering “0” resulted in free.
What has changed with regards to your site since first installing? Have you updated this plugin or any others, or maybe altered the theme a bit?

MemberHI Rob! Thanks for the fast response. I have know idea how to modify or alter the theme. Our Web guy won’t let me touch updates to WP or any plugins he has loaded. I only get to update ECP since I use it myself and he maintains the web site.
I changed the starting date of the WP settings on the calendar so that it started on Sunday instead of the default that had been Monday. I also changed the date format to M j,Y so that the date fit on line in the Events Calendar PRO. I began using bullets in the HTML coding section of the contents area:

textThat’s all that has been changed….I did update to 2.0.3 as well. The field allows me to put a “0” in it but nothing show up anymore. I haven’t any idea what to do now. Like I said I haven’t made any changes to ECP coding at all.

MemberRob,
OK, We updated everything on our site (WP, plugins, etc) and there is still an issue with the “free” field. I de-activated all plugins to see if there was a conflict and it didn’t help. The only thing that changed to cause this was updating to the EC 2.0.3 build. Where can I get a copy of the previous build to try and default back to what worked?
Thanks

MemberHey Shawn. No prob; though I will note that since we cannot recreate this on our end it does sound to be theme-specific. If you want to let me know what theme you’re using (or provide me with a set of backend credentials so I can see this in action on your site) we can try to test against it for a future release.
To get the 2.0.2 code, email me (rob at tri.be) and I’ll hook you up. May also be worth trying the current beta code (somewhere between 2.0.3 and 2.1) to see if that fixes the issue too.

MemberRob,
Thanks again for the reply and I will have our web guy email you for the old and beta code. Also, we did test this by deactivating our theme and using Twenty Eleven and the “free” issue was still present. This was with all plugins deactivated as well.
Thanks

MemberThanks Shawn. Let me know what the new code brings up; we’ll keep trying to work through this with you for a resolution. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.

MemberOkay…..my web guy found a workaround or what he called a HACK.
If we type “FREE” in the field instead of “0”, the COST: field reappears with the word “FREE” in it!Don’t know why…but it is working for now. I will watch it daily as I enter new events. My web guy is also watching. He has recc’d this program to all of his clients based upon many things, among them my use and success with it….keep up the good work!

MemberHey Shawn. Awesome to hear you found a workaround here – and thanks for the words about the plugin 🙂 We’re happy to hear it and appreciate all the exposure we can get.
If anything else comes up or if you ever want to revisit this issue (particularly after updating to the official 2.1 release, should it persist) do let us know.
