ParticipantHi,
So the widget is working great except one major issue, which is that it takes the full page event and puts it at the bottom of the page– as opposed to simply having the widget the way it’s supposed to. Its a rather odd issue. I have deactivated all plugins and it only this one seems to be affected.
Please help!
Thank youDecember 5, 2013 at 5:25 pm #80446Barry
MemberI’m afraid I’m not too clear as to the problem – I see that the calendar widget is contained in a fixed size element and needs vertical scrollbars as a result, but I’m not sure that that is what you are referring to here.
Can you clarify?

ParticipantHere, I’ll put it back in a different section, so you’ll be able to see it do the post loop.. I’ll also disable the blocker we tried (unsuccessfully) to use to block the posts from the front page.

ParticipantAh, I see, the original comment wasn’t very clear: The Events List widget, when loaded into page builder, seems to cause a post loop to become enabled on the home page. Removing the widget fixes the problem. I’d love to use the widget, and then turn the mini cal back to calendar only, but if I have to, I can have the mini-cal on top with the events, and then somehow span my rows to try to maintain my styling.

MemberHmm, ok. Again without being able to see this it’s hard to visualize exactly and, I’m afraid, we do not offer phone based support.
Please also understand that we’re not necessarily familiar with your choice of plugins or with your theme – so I’m not sure what you mean by ‘page builder’ but I’m guessing that is the name of your theme, or some feature it ships with?

ParticipantYou can see it now! I put it back on hours ago.

ParticipantThere should be zero posts at the bottom of the home page.. the typhoon post is not a part of the home page, and if I remove the events list widget, it goes away. Previously ALL posts were showing up, but one tech went to each post and made it not visible on home page. I’m having him remove some of those settings now.

Participantpage builder is just a widget placement plugin.. every other widget I’ve tried works fine with it;

ParticipantThe footer should be right after the youtube embed.

ParticipantAnd is as soon as I turn off the Events List widget.

MemberThanks, sazarnoff.
What’s interesting is that – if this was due to a lack of cleanup after one of our queries, I’d expect it to change an existing loop to include event related data, rather than trigger a cascade of regular posts.
To recap, is this issue specific to your theme (if so, what theme are you using)?
December 6, 2013 at 5:49 am #80502sazarnoff
ParticipantNot sure if it’s specific to the theme, how’s best to check? I’m using Eventor theme. I can load any other widget, including loading the Events List data in through a different widget (but it isn’t formatted as well.) One of my contractors who took a quick look at it thought it might have to do with JQuery. I personally haven’t dug though it deep enough to see, just done enough troubleshooting to know that at least with the way this is setup, I can load any of the widgets I have except this one and there is no problem, then as soon as I load this one, all heck breaks loose.

MemberSwitching to a default, unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve, Twenty Thirteen etc) and checking to see if some similar phenomenon takes place is a good starting point.
Beyond that you’d really need to dig into your theme and look at the code that produces that loop of posts – and figure out why it is being triggered.
