Fixed date for Week View

Is there any possible way (by editing core files) to force Week View to show a fixed (specific) week – instead of the current (realtime) week?

We need to show future events (month ahead in time) by default. As the calendar doesn’t have a “Show first given event” option – we are met by this message: “No results were found for this week. Try searching another week.” But how would people know which week out of 52 in a year to search – in order to find our events!?

It does make us wonder if this calender was built only to support realtime events? Apparently it cannot be used “today” for announcing future events i.e. a festival in June or a conference in October. It will just show up blank. “No results were found…”

Please advice a workaround until the “Show first given event” option is available. This is not even a “feature request” – it is what you would expect a “professional” calendar to do.

Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, the calendar displays the current week by default, and this is not a configurable option. However, you can link to a specific week if you’d like to share certain events to users (ex: http://www.yoursite.com/events/week/2014-03-23/).

Could you at least mark this a feature request then? Shocking that this isn’t by default and that you cannot advice to where the current date is set so that we could change this to a specific date (somewhere in the core files). Must be possible. This is causing us so many problems.
