Hello – I’m trying to use this plug-in for a gym website. I want to be able to tie specific ‘organizers’ to ‘venues’, so that that when someone selects a venue, only the ‘organizers’ at that venue show. In our instance: organizers = instructors, and venues = gyms.

Right now, we have 100+ instructors showing on our filter bar. Is there a way to tie specific instructors to specific venues?

    Hi Ducan,

Thanks for reaching out to us, but unfortunately that isn’t a simple feature, although it’s possible do it.

I can point you in the right direction but I cannot do it for you, since it’s a big thing, you might want to hire a developer to create this feature for you.

I just want to know, you want theses changes happen on the admin or on the front-end filter bar? I need to know that so I can give you some information on how to proceed.

    My best Regards,

Hi Gustavo – this is a front-end (customer facing) filter bar issue. I’d appreciate any assistance you can provide – I am a developer, but this one is a little perplexing, I figured this would be a native function (much like the filter bar for an excel spreadsheet).

Another question – do you think this could be solved if we made multiple calendars with set organizers for each? We are importing a csv event feed daily which updates our calendars – and its venue is assigned a unique number, I’m wondering if we can use these numbers to create unique calendars.

    Hi Duncan,

Sorry for the delay on your answer, so as I told you before thats a big feature and we don’t do development for support topics, but I will point you in the direction that I think can help you solve your issue.

To understand the solution I’m thinking you should take a look at the folder ‘/events-filterbar/lib/filters/‘ there you have a few exemples of Filters, if you take a look at the Organizer one you should have a pretty good exemple of how to create a new Filter to overwrite the current Organizer one.

Them you will need to use the action ‘tribe_events_filters_create_filters‘ to include the new Organizer filter. This new filter would use the Select2 instead of checkboxes, so that you would be able to search. To remove the old Organizer filter you should take a look at the following filter: “tribe_events_all_filters_array

So there are other ways to create this, as I told you before, this will required a developer to craft.

Sorry I wasn’t able to help you any further here, I would like to point out that I’ve noted that having too many organizers or venues poses a problem, the team will talk to see if there isn’t any way to improve the current User Experience in any way in the next few versions, I can’t promise that it will change because we need to listen to what is the need for most of the userbase.

    My Best regards,
