Filter by country

Hi!

we have 3 domain for our website treffpunkt-jazz (.de/ .at / .ch).
All domains are currently redirected to one website showing all events from the 3 countries.
Now we want to put in an filter, which shows only the events of the specific country:
-> .de -> show only events from Germany
-> .at -> show only events from Austria
-> .ch -> show only events from Switzerland

Is this possible, e.g. by putting a parameter in the URL (www.treffpunkt-jazz.de/events?country=DE) or by a hook in the php-code? Or any other idea?

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for using our plugins and I will try to help out as much as I can.

While we do not have a way to filter along the lines you suggested you could use the Events Location Search to accomplish this.

If you do a search for Germany the url will change to represent that search. You could then use that url as the link from the German version of your site.

That should get you close to what you are looking for.

Another method could be to add a custom filter to the filter bar. This thread has the start of such method.

However, it is more involved then the first option and we can help out with the first step, but would be unable to troubleshoot the entire process.

Hi Brian,

thank for the info.
The first idea unfortunately doesn’t work. Have a look (example for Switzerland):
http://www.treffpunkt-jazz.de/?s=schweiz&x=0&y=0
The result is not filtered by Switzerland.

I will check the second idea the next days!
