ParticipantIts my understanding now, after purchasing the filter bar plugin… that the filters only show up if an event is created and has that particular tag or category or price added to it…
Right now, I have my filters set up to show, categories, tag, cost, and distance.. on the front end the only thing that appears is Cost, no other filters.
How can I get this to show ALL AVAILABLE FILTER OPTIONS regardless of whether an event is scheduled?
I purchased this thinking it would work this way as a default.

ParticipantTran,
Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you’re having trouble here, but hopefully I can help. When you go to ‘Events->Settings->Filters’ do you see all boxes on the left-hand side checked (like this screenshot)?July 2, 2014 at 6:24 am #267105Tran
ParticipantHi Casey,
Yes the boxes I want showing are selected similar to that screen shot

ParticipantTran,
Ok, I think I understand the issue clearer now. The Filter bar add-on is designed to narrow down event results, so the user can see a smaller subset of events. Since your site has no events with Filterable data (like Categories, Venues, etc), the other Filter dropdowns aren’t displaying, since it might mislead users to thinking there are more events.Does that make sense? Try adding more events with Categories, Venues, and other information, and let me know if they’re still not appearing.
Thanks! π

ParticipantThanks,
I had a feeling that was the case… is there anyway to show ALL categories, venues, etc by default and not just ones that have an event connected to it?
I’m setting up ‘Tags’ to be City names, and itd be great to offer all cities in a drop down for users to browse through, even if theres no event in the city, atleast they could search..

ParticipantTran,
Unfortunately not, since the main idea behind the Filter bar add-on is to allow users to filter through existing events. If this is something you’d like to see in a future release, I would suggest submitting it as an idea on our UserVoice page. Our team periodically reviews the most popular ideas for possible inclusion in a future release of the plugin. Thanks! π
