    Hello,

I already opened a thread which was closed because I did not answer for some weeks.
I do not know how to reference the thread so I am writing again.

The problem was that I could not see the filter bar working. I installed it correctly and I also activated some filters.
Talking back to our IT specialist in our non profit organisation he told me that it can cause problems if I activate all other running plugins just to see if the filter bar works correctly then.
What he did within the last days was to set up a test homepage where we installed the theme and the event calender. Not the event calender pro, which we use at the original site.
My question is, can I install and activate the Pro Version of Events Calendar on the test site, using the same activation code as on the original site? Without paying twice for the Pro Version. What I want to do is just to do the test if the filter bar works on the test site.
The test site is not indicated by google. It is just for test purposes.

    Best regards
    Stefan Frank

    Hi Stefan!

Thanks for getting in touch with us. Let me help you with this topic.

You can install and make use of the plugins in a staging/dev site. We have an article on how to use one license for this purpose > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-one-license-live-dev-sites/

If your staging site does not fit under those conditions to be accepted as staging, you can still install and activate the plugins with no problem. We don’t limit any functionality if the plugin is not activated. You just won’t be able to receive automatic updates for it.

Remember you can always download the latest versions of our plugins from your downloads page > https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions and also if you need help setting up Filter Bar.

    Best,
    Victor

    Hello Victor,

how can I activate the main events page?
    I am working with shortcodes.
Now I searched over one hour how to activate the main page. I have no idea.

    Best regards
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan!

The main events page is the calendar page that gets created automatically when you activate The Events Calendar plugin. By default, the url is yoursite.com/events, but in your site I can see youcustomized it to be yoursite.com/seminare. In any case, you can access the main events page by going to your wp-admin and clicking the Events link in the top bar > https://cloudup.com/cenObu-liNk

Unfortunately, Filter Bar does not support shortcodes at the moment. This is something we are planning on building in a future feature release of our plugins. You can add your vote here > https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/17840326-make-filter-bar-compatible-with-shortcoded-calenda

Please try to navigate to the main events page when having a default theme (like twenty seventeen) and only The Events Calendar and Filter Bar activated and see if the Filters show up.

If they don’t show up under those conditions, please share a link to your staging site so we can have a closer inspection and see if we find anything strange.

Let us know about it 🙂

    Best regards,
    Victor

    Hi Stefan!

Glad to know it works for your site. Thanks for following up to let us know about it.

I understand your situation with using the shortcode. You might want to try selecting a different Event Template by going to Events > Settings > Display tab. Depending on your theme, you might be able to see other templates available and use the one with the sidebar.

As you marked this Resolved I’ll go ahead and close it, but don’t hesitate to open a new topic if anything comes up and we’d be happy to help 🙂

    Best,
    Victor
