    You asked me to create a new thread, so this is it.

    I am using x theme.

    You mentioned in your reply that overlaying the header in nav bar is how the filter bar was designed to work. Why would it be designed that way? It doesn’t make sense to have the filter bar (or anything else for that matter) cover the main navigation for the website in any situation!?! Or the Header!?! And why on earth would you give the option of defaulting to “open” if it is going to cover up these things on mobile?

    Please give me some insight into how to fix this. It is likely that most of my traffic is going to be on mobile (as is 80% of internet traffic) and the calendar is the whole reason I have this website.

    Also playing around with the filter bar… the cost filter is not functioning at all. You can’t move it over, its stuck at zero, and its not filtering results based on that even. There are several events on the list that cost money and are still showing.

    Hi Erin,

    Can you share the link to the original thread you are referring to? It sounds like there may be a miscommunication here, since the Filter Bar navigation is not designed to show up hidden under the site navigation at all.

    The problem is your theme, in this regard โ€“ย I checked out http://todayinspokane.com/events/ and, for some reason, the mobile header of your theme itself is not clearing content underneath it. This means that when the Filter Bar filters are clicked to be shown, they pop up under the header.

    This is a theme issue โ€“ย that means that technically, it’s not something we’re able to offer support for… However, I’ve been looking at your site a bit to try and come up with some custom CSS that will improve this functionality ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t have any right now, it’s a tricky problem to solve, but I will post as soon as I have something.

    Now, separate from this issue entirely is the issue of the Cost filter not working.

    Does this issue still persist for you?

    Thank you!
    George

    Hey Erin,

    I think I’ve found some CSS that will help โ€“ย try adding some CSS like the following to the very bottom of your theme’s style.css file:

    .tribe-events-filters-vertical {
    position: relative !important;
    }

    Let me know if this helps at all!

    Cheers,
    George

    Thank you so much for your help this solved my problem. I was fully ready to find a new theme to work with because this calendar is just that good and I know that you guys aren’t under any obligation to help with theme conflicts. However, the CSS you provided worked perfectly. For other having the same problem with x-theme conflicting with the filter bar:
    Adding the above CSS to the CSS spot at the bottom of the x-theme customizer did not work, adding it to the style.css did not work either, but the Simple Custom CSS plugin did work.

    Thank you again, the support is wonderful.

    Wow, thanks for the kind words about both our plugin itself, and our support. Means a lot ๐Ÿ™‚

    I’m glad things were able to work out here, theme/plugin-conflicts can indeed be quite frustrating so your patience while we worked through the bugs is much appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thanks!
