    Hi Nico,

    Pleased to hear that a developer is getting involved. Hopefully we’ll have some progress soon.

    Regarding triggering the import, it doesn’t matter how many events you have, the import won’t run unless somebody actually accesses the site, i.e. unless somebody types http://www.yoursite.com into a browser.

    Wordpress cron doesn’t work the same way as Unix cron. You can tell it to run a job every hour, but it won’t do it. It only checks the cron list when somebody access the site.

    One way to ensure that the import is triggered is to set up a site to monitor it hourly, for example this one https://visualping.io/ That will access your site once an hour, thereby triggering the import.

    Hey Keith,

    Thanks for the heads-up! I’m aware of what you are stating and I check the site regularly to run the imports. Nice tips about the visualping. Other technique is to set up a cron in the server to make the wp-crons run.

    Facebook events import duplicating (on auto-import) for almost every event. Is there an official resolution to this issue?

    Hey Rick,

    Not yet, but we are actively looking for the origin of this bug. As noted above this is not an easy issue for us to look into. Additional tests for duplicates are being set and also if anyone is willing to set up a test site where this can be reproduced with default TweentyFifteen theme and no other plugins active (but our), we will be happy to take a look to the site and db’s exports.

    I really hope we can hunt this tricky bug soon,

    Hello all,

    As an update to this I have deleted all events on this site as I was getting as many as 14 duplicates of the same event when using the hourly Facebook auto import option. As most people seemed to be having problems using the hourly setting I also tried it on twice daily instead. This improved the situation and gave less duplicates but events are still duplicating. For example the same event is entered twice for today.

    I hope someone can find a solution because otherwise this is an excellent plugin.

    Hey Mark,

    Thanks for sharing the update! It would be great if you could set up a testing site (with default theme and no other plugins active but ours) to try to reproduce this. If you can do so and in fact confirm the duplicates are appearing in the test site, it would surely help us to solve this!

    Please let me know if you can do, it’s alright if you don’t have time or you are not able to do it,

    Hey Bryan,

    There is not a substantive update at this time. Sorry to bear that news 🙁

    This thread has grown quite large, but was originally posted back when our products were at the 3.12.x release family, and has not been updated since November 2015.

    So I will close up this thread now.

    If any issues, comments, or concerns arise, open up a new thread and we’ll get to you as fast as possible 🙂
