ParticipantI have a problem with reoccurring events, when you put in the time for the event ex: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm when you fill out the reoccurring info it changes the time to 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 pm for the following day, week, month. I have had to revert to single setup instead of reoccur.

ParticipantIn the interim, I have had to revert to the use of another plugin. I remain hopeful that a solution will be found ASAP.

ParticipantHowdy Terry,
I hope we can help you find a solution too.
I have not seen any error like this before. In order to diagnose it the quickest I am going to request a lot of information from you, I hope you do not mind.
First, could you try creating a new test event for 10am tomorrow, and set it to recur (perhaps daily and end after 3 occurences)? With this new event, are you observing a time shift? If you are still seeing the timeshift please follow our standard debugging procedures before continuing, they are very helpful in helping to isolate the probelm and thus proceed towards a solution:
Could you try temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, and seeing if the issue persists.
If disabling the theme fixes it, we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict. Do you have any theme overrides for the Events Calendar? If so could you try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’. Did that fix it?
If the issue persists in the default Twenty Thirteen theme, then we have a different set of debugging steps. Please keep the Twenty Thirteen theme enabled, and also disable any plugins other than the ones from Modern Tribe to see if that fixes it. If it does, please try reenabling the plugins one at a time until the issue resurfaces. When it does resurface, can you let me know which plugin caused that to happen?
What is your timezone set to in WP Admin > Settings > General? What happens if you change it temporarily, and create a new event again. Still the same problem?
Finally, would you mind grabbing your system information and pasting it here? Make sure to use the ‘Set as private reply’ checkbox to protect your private information from the public. You can find the system info by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings, clicking on the “Help” tab, and scrolling down to the ‘System Information’ box. (Or by going to [yoursite]/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=help) That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.
Thank you! Any other information you can provide that you think might be relevant would be quite helpful. Let me know if I can be of any assistance along the way. Cheers!

ParticipantOkay I did what you asked but just to add a little more information to this problem I see that when I click on the (start Date & time) I used to get the calendar but now I have to change it manually, this also occurs for the End date & time) also it no longer asks for occurrences except the date it will end on and it has to be manually input.
After inputting in the information you requested I checked and the time for the second day changed from 10:00 am -11:00 am to 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
I then changed the theme to Twenty Thirteen and checked the events and it remained the same as my Designfolio Pro theme. I have no theme overrides, I changed the time zone with no effect, still remains with the error.April 29, 2014 at 7:16 am #145370Brook
ParticipantThank you for the additional info. Your description of the calendar popup not working is particularly helpful. When you go to to edit or add an event and try to change the date that calendar should still be popping up. I bet if you open up your browser console on the edit/add pages, you will see JavaScript errors.
JavaScript errors can basically be attributed to one of four things:
- Your theme’s JavaScript is conflicting with The Events Calendar. But this now seems unlikely.
- One of your plugin’s JavaScripts is conflicting with The Events Calendar .
- Sometimes it is a combination of one of your plugins, your theme, and The Events Calendar.
- One of your plugins or your WordPress install has become corrupted.
#3 is rare, and #4 is far more rare. To make sure that it is not 1-3, please do disable all of your plugins except The Events Calendar, and switch to the 2014 theme. Now when you edit or add an event, does the calendar show up? Does recurring events work properly now for new events that you created with plugins and such disabled?
Please let me know! I think that we have isolated this issue and are near to finding the culprit, and thus possibly also near to a solution.

ParticipantOkay. I want to help you resolve it. Would you mind answering my questions? Just to be 100% positive, have you tested adding a new while on the 2013 theme, and with all plugins except The Events Calendar & Events Calendar PRO enabled?

ParticipantHowdy Dale Norenberg,
Thank you for posting! Sorry for the delayed response. As outlined in our forum ruleswe try to keep our threads focused on just one user’s problem. One of the big reasons is that our forum software does not always notifiy us when someone other than the OP responds, and thus delays like this happen. 🙁
Further, a unique topic for your issue ensures that we are addressing your specific problem instead of a general group one, and not possibly missing anything unique your situation. To that end, would you mind opening up a new topic here about your specific problem? If you could please detail in your own words exactly what your problem is (instead of just linking here), that will go a long way towards helping you get this issue resolved as fast as possible.
Keep in mind I outlined above the possible causes. If your issue is truly identical, then these causes would apply to you as well:
JavaScript errors can basically be attributed to one of four things:

- One of your plugin’s JavaScripts is conflicting with The Events Calendar .
- Sometimes it is a combination of one of your plugins, your theme, and The Events Calendar.

To further speed things up, you might also try these debugging steps that I outlined and post the results in the new thread:
Try temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, and seeing if the issue persists.
If disabling the theme fixes it, we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict. Do you have any theme overrides for the Events Calendar? If so could you try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’. Did that fix it?

Cheers! I hope you understand our reasoning regarding one user/topic and do not mind this extra step, we have just found it serves our users best.
Since the OP has not responded here in a few weeks, this thread will now be closed. If anyone needs further assistance definitely open a new topic, we are happy to assist.
