ParticipantEvents suddenly stopped working in the month view only on my website. I’ve tried everything I could think of:
– Disabled plugins
– Different theme
– Re uploaded plugin
– Disabled pro plugin
– Turn on WP_DEBUG (Not too helpful)
– Used The Event Calendar debug mode + debug bar. This does give an error: https://cloudup.com/crBBpR0TIxdAny ideas?

MemberHi – sorry you’re hitting difficulties.
Does that error only occur when you load month view? If so, would it be possible to make enquiries with your host in case there is a problematic query running that they can identify?

ParticipantOk, I pulled this from my logs: https://cloudup.com/cIzrQcIEv5S. I found this which explains long and killed queries on my web host, WP Engine: http://wpengine.com/support/long-query-killed-query-error-logs/. Any thoughts or suggestions?

MemberI’m really sorry you’re hitting that.
A number of customers have recently been hitting problems when they use WP Engine – we’re actively looking into this and we’ll do our best to pop back in here with an update once we’ve got something further to report.
Thanks for sharing the log details – and for your patience while we investigate 🙂

ParticipantI found a work around: https://searchwp.com/support/topic/wpengine-long-query-killed-query/. With that said, I assume WP Engine’s recommendations would be for you guys to clean up the queries so that it’s not as long. I still have not received a response from them. I’ll consider my issue resolved.

MemberGlad you found that workaround!
We’re definitely looking at what we can do here to improve the situation re sites hosted on WP Engine. I would note though, in a similar vein to the remarks in the Search WP resource you linked to, that a long query isn’t necessarily a bad query or something that even necessarily needs to be “cleaned up” in the strictest sense – though of course we’re interested in doing what we can to help people who use popular hosting platforms like this.
In any case, we’ll continue to investigate and will do what we can here.
Thanks again for your support and patience 🙂
