    Hi, We are having ongoing trouble with some events not appearing. We have had an outside web firm already spend quite a bit of time trying to figure out why. Their assessment is below this email. Can you shed some light on why we have some events not appearing, is it because there are errors in addresses, as they suggest? We don’t really need to pay for 20 hours of programming time just to make this calendar work, do we? Below is the situation (according to the web team we have been using). We’re at our wit’s end and I really hope you can help us make our calendar work effectively. We’re an international arts magazine and have received many complaints from frustrated customers. It’s embarrassing for our company and people are losing confidence in our systems. Best, Marcia Young

    We have been looking into the event listing issue, and searched for the below mentioned events and found out the issue are with the venue addresses, some of the venues are duplicated, some have address issues. We have analyzed for the below mentioned list of events and here is the segregated analysis on each event:

    We didn’t fix these issue on your live server as we did all testing on our local server because we cannot delete those duplicate venues on live server without your approval.
    These are just some of the events which have venue issues, there are lots of venues duplication and addresses issues, which would result in missing events in future as well.
    We have consumed all of 30 hours that you have bought initially.

    Suggestion :
    We would suggest that you should implement Google Map API to find addresses for the new venues so that there would be no issues with the venue addresses in future. We can implement Google Map API for frontend event submission which would take around 20-22 Hours.

    I’m sorry to hear about your frustrations with this on your site. Before giving a deeper analysis of things, though, can you please clarify exactly what the issue is?

    Do you mean that certain events simply don’t appear on your Map View, for example? Or do these events not appear on any view?

    Next, please clarify each of these details:

    1. What version of The Events Calendar is active on your site?
    2. What version of Events Calendar PRO is active on your site?
    3. It looks like you’ve purchased Community Events in the past. If this is active on your site, what version is active?
    4. It looks like you’ve purchased Tribe Filter Bar in the past. If this is active on your site, what version is active?
    5. What version of WordPress itself is running on your site?

    20 hours of dev time is indeed quite an investment, so if you can start here by first elaborating on the issue as I asked further up above, and then just provide the 5 details in the order they appear as mentioned more immediately above, that will be a good foundation for us to build a better understanding of your issues here. It could be possible that there are theme or plugin conflicts, for example, or something of a similar nature that then would not require 20 hours of dev time.

    1. What version of The Events Calendar is active on your site?
    REPLY:I’m not sure. It doesn’t show. We have Events Calendar Pro, Events Calendar Community Events and Events Calendar Filter Bar.
    2. What version of Events Calendar PRO is active on your site?

    MORE INFORMATION: Strangely, at the top of the plugins page there are three messages, saying “To begin using Events Calendar Pro, install the latest version of Events Calendar Pro.” The same message appears for Community Events and Filter Bar too. However, they are already on the site. Please accept my apologies for being such a noob. I’m working on getting a regular web manager but for now I still need to get this fixed right away. If it is easier, please check it out yourself. Here are the login credentials:

    Hey Marcia,

    While we appreciate your supplying of login data and the willingness to resolve this issue that it implies, I removed that data for security reasons off of this site – we cannot log into customer sites.

    The biggest problems that need to be addressed at this time are:

    1. You are unable to locate The Events Calendar on your site. The Events Calendar is required for all other add-ons to run.

    2. The version numbers of your active Tribe plugins are inconsistent.

    So, the first thing you should do is head to http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar. Download the latest version of The Events Calendar there and install it on your site.

    Once that is activated, then head to http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads and download the most recent version of Events Calendar Pro. Install it on your site.

    As for Community Events, it is outdated and so to be able to get the most recent version you would have to renew your license. If you cannot do that, then for now your best option is deactivate this plugin just so we can troubleshoot without its version number causing problems, and we can handle the version number discrepancy later.
