    Hi,
The ability to view the calendar in the ‘event list’ option indicates there are ‘no upcoming events’ but there are upcoming events. All events are indicated in the ‘calendar’ view option. Any and all help is appreciated.

An update to my original comment/issue. I have switched themes to standard twenty twelve and the problem is corrected. So there is a conflict in the theme. Can you tell me where the conflict would be and how to overcome it?
    Thanks

    Hi Jo,

We do our best to ensure compatibility with the myriad of themes out there, but there is only so much we can do. I could take a look at the theme and see what I can figure out if you can email it to me. Please email it to pro [at] tri [dot] be, attn. to me and reference this thread.

In the interim you might try changing your permalinks setting in Settings > Permalinks to Postname. Or, go to Events > Settings > Template and try changing the template selection to see if that helps.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hi Jo,

Thanks for sending the theme across. I installed it and am not seeing any issues like you reported. I see all my events in the list and on the calendar. That leads me to believe that there must be something else going on. My first guess is that it’s a plugin conflict. Have you tried deactivating all other plugins? Please try this and let me know how that goes.

    Hi Jonah

Thanks for looking at the theme. I have tried deactivating all other plugins, but still the list view indicates ‘no upcoming events’. Could there be an issue somewhere in the database? I have no idea what I am suggesting, but I recently had to reload all files on the hosting site. Could there be a missing link?

    Hi Jo,

There could be an issue with the database but it’s odd that the events display in the calendar but not in the list. Could you send me an export of your events by going to Tools > Export? Then I can import all your events and test it out on my end.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hi Jo,

Thanks for sending the data export across. I imported all the events and unfortunately had no problem viewing all of the in the events list. Here’s what I would suggest – manually reinstall WordPress and both of our plugins (core and PRO) by recopying all files over again. See if that works. If it doesn’t, please email me wp-admin access so I can take a look.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hi Jo,

Thanks for sending wp-admin access and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I took a look at things just not and cannot seem to figure out why this is happening. I’m likely going to have to escalate this up and have a developer take a look. Before I do that can you confirm one other thing. Have you made any changes to any of the plugin templates by making copies of the view files and placing them in an ‘events’ folder in your theme? Or, do you have any plugin specific code in your theme’s functions.php file related to our plugin?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hi Jonah

I have not made any changes to the functions.php or added any files to the events folder.

Thank you for continued effort in solving this issue.

    Hi Jo,

Thanks. I’ve gone ahead and created a ticket for the issue for one of our developer to take a look at. It may take another day or two to get a response, so please be patient.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

Hello Jo! Tribe dev here. Would you be ok with me installing a temporary developer plugin at the site so i could analyze the queries and other environmental factors in play? It will not affect front end display and can be uninstalled right after i’m done with no harm. Thank you!

Hello Jo! OK, thanks for letting me install the plugin. So I’ve determined the problem, and it is one related to the premium theme you are using, Trim, or at least it’s implementation on your site. On all index pages, including home – or both the month or list view of events – are having their query set to “minister-news”, a category from your blog. This means the theme is for some reason affecting the query, and hence no events are found on list view. Month view ignores this parameter as it has its own category system in place. You need to resolve why the theme is applying this category to the main query, as it it will affect you beyond just our plugin. Can you contact the theme author and describe the issue to them? I see it is a premium theme so you should be able to get support from them on this I hope. If all else fails report back here, but at that point I will need the theme folder and a database dump if possible so i can solve the problem myself. Let me know!
