ParticipantWe have some events where we want to show a proposed end time, and others where we don’t want to show and end time. I tried leaving the end time field blank (following the example of others fields), but it defaults to 5:00pm on current date. Is there a way of being able to have some events with end times and others without?
Also on Calendar view, if a user mouses over an event, there is a popup that appears with details. (Sorry I am not sure of the technical term for this). Is there anyway of being able to include the venue on this.
Thanks

ParticipantHey alexhammerstein,
In order to get events to show on a calendar, such as a weekly or monthly view, they really need to have a start and end time by definition. It just isn’t possible to have an open-ended event. Computers can be so literal about those sort of things. We have chosen a default end time of 5:00 p.m., and it would be possible to set that to a different time, but it would mean getting into the code to do so.
With regards to the information that is displayed when you mouse over an event, there’s only a limited amount of space available so we had to make some choices as to what would be displayed there. If you’d like to make changes to that, you can find some information that could help you in either our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) or Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/). But since it is a customization to the plugin, there’s only so much support we can provide. If you are comfortable with digging into the code and making changes, then I believe that the plugin will be able to do what you’d like.
Does that make sense?

MemberHi Alex, let us know if that helped or if you have any further questions: one other approach you could use here is setting an additional field which could act as a “flag” – along with a template override, you could then selectively show or hide end times, for example.
Hope that helps 🙂
