ParticipantWe can seem to find out why events created all the same way and only some show the detail info underneth in the list view. You can see it in the two links below. The first is our home page look bottom right. The second is an “upcoming events” page. Do you guys see anything that jumps out? I would think if it was a theme issue it would be across all events.

ParticipantHey Clint,
Thanks for reaching out to us – this is indeed an odd issue, and after checking out your links, there was not anything that stood out as obviously problematic to me…weird.
It’s quite possible your currently-active theme could be to blame here, though before testing that, I’m curious if you can first head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', false );to this:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );This change will cause PHP errors to display on your site if any exist, which might be very helpful here.
Let us know if you can make this change and, if so, if any errors pop up. (If any do, you can copy and paste them into Gists at http://gist.github.com and share links to those Gists in your replies)
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks for the reply. I am forwarding this to our site’s developer. Changing code is above my “pay grade”. HOWEVER…. I did locate the wp-config.php and I could not find the “define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false );” you asked me to change but i did find this…
error_reporting(E_ALL); ini_set(‘display_errors’, 1);
define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true);I have seen other errors from some other plug ins that we have corrected in the past. So I wonder why would it not kick up an error in this case if it was a theme issue? When I hear back from the site developer I will post his response or he may join the thread. Either way I wanted to let you know what I found and may that would help as we wait for additional info. thanks again

ParticipantHey Clint,
Awesome! That code you found means that WP_DEBUG was indeed already activated, saving us a whole step here.
I’m curious about this problem though, and can’t recreate it on my own local testing site…since there are no errors getting displayed, I’m curious, do you think you’d have the ability to activate a default theme on your site like Twenty Twelve (or a more recent variant)?
If so, it’s just a temporary activation for testing purposes – I know how lame it can feel to activate a default theme on a live site.
But it might be really helpful here, and is at least worth ruling out. If possible, activate that theme and see how things behave.
In the meantime, if you can also reply and list all the other plugins on your site, that might be helpful as well!
Thanks Clint!

ParticipantOn our “upcoming events” page under the twenty twelve theme it had the menus at the top then page title “upcoming events” then this [tf-events-temp limit=”20″] and that is it…. How can i send you a file? I saved html files from browser or i could just send you screen shot of the page under twenty twelve theme.
as far the Event plug in that is all i noticed

ParticipantHey Clint,
Do you know where that [tf-events-temp] shortcode is coming from? That is not something built into The Events Calendar.
It seems like maybe a shortcode from your theme – did you happen to buy your theme off of ThemeForest.net?
Also, does your theme have its own “Events” functionality built into it? If so, there could be some sort of conflict here.
If you leave Twenty Twelve active on your site, and try creating an Events Calendar event, do the event dates still not display sometimes?
If you’d like us to check out your site with Twenty Twelve active, is it possible for you to simply leave the theme active on your site for the duration of troubleshooting this issue?

Participanthey
No I dont know where that code is coming from that is something will ask site builder. No as far as I know it was not purchased from ThemeForest.net
Dont know about events functionality built into it. another one for site builder.
when twenty twelve was active on my site no events displayed, new or old just that code
lastly no I cant leave twenty twelve running on our site…. it renders it rather useless
I will forward your last post to site builder see if I can get info from him

ParticipantHey Clint,
Thanks for the information here. Please do forward all this along to the site developer and keep us in the loop – it seems like there are issues specific to your site and the way your theme and/or plugins are all configured to work that are causing the issues here.
Keep us posted!
