MemberI’m receiving significant crawl errors in Google Webmaster Tools regarding events. Events Calendar Pro was upgraded in February 2012 and errors began soon after. I cannot find a migration button to migrate old events, and I’m not sure this is the problem. I have no index and no follow robots meta activated to stem the errors.
It would be great to get some advice on what is going on with the crawl errors.
Examples:
industry-events/category/wireless-events-calendar/?EventJumpToMonth=08&EventJumpToYear=2009
industry-events/category/cable-event-calender/?EventJumpToMonth=09&EventJumpToYear=2013
industry-events/category/cable-event-calender/?EventJumpToMonth=07&EventJumpToYear=2014

MemberHi Leonard. Thanks for the note here, and my apologies for the inconvenience you’re faced with so far. We have been dealing with a related issue of mysterious 404s on The Events Calendar that may be related to this. Are those links coming from a tag cloud somewhere on the site?

Participanthi Rob,
i’m having a similar issue where Google Webmaster Tools is telling me 15 event URLs are not returning 404s but should be. the thing i’m noticing about mine is that all the URLs are for dates where i have no events scheduled. for example:
http://realgoodssolar.com/events/2038-01-18/
http://realgoodssolar.com/events/2012-10-14/the 15 links in question are not coming from a tag cloud. they are coming from the calendar, which is odd because from the calendar view, you can’t even click into a day with no events scheduled.
how can i tell google not to crawl pages with no events scheduled?
thanks,

MemberHey guys. Thanks for the follow-ups here, and my apologies for letting this one slip through the cracks. Finding the solution here is a tad outside my area of expertise, but I’ve asked Jonah to take a look…and if he can’t figure it out we’ll run it up the flagpole until we can find someone who is able to. Thanks for your patience and understanding so far…we’ll do what we can to get you through this.

ParticipantWhat version of TEC are you guys running, out of curiosity? Is it the latest 2.0.9?

Participantvarious versions on various sites. One example site is running 2.0.3.
My Google webmaster crawl is reporting 503 errors on urls like this: events/1801-03-12October 8, 2012 at 8:49 am #26244Jonah
ParticipantHi guys,
Make sure you are running 2.0.9 because we’ve done various improvements on this issue on releases since 2.0.3.

MemberFolks: is anyone still having problems here, after following the advice in Jonah’s last note? Do you need anything else from us at Modern Tribe to assist you here?

MemberGuys, I’m going to assume we’re all set here since I still haven’t heard anything back. Going to close this out accordingly. If I’ve done so in error, please open a new thread that includes a link back to this one and we can keep troubleshooting as needed. Cheers!
