ParticipantI have it posted elsewhere, but can anyone tell me if the solution found in (https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/reoccuring-events-out-of-control/) takes care of the duplicated recurring events that I’m seeing?

ParticipantI have gone in and manually updated all of the duplicate entries in the calendar. However, all of the recurring events create URLs that don’t resolve properly. Even when I delete a recurring event and recreate it, the Permalinks don’t work. For example, if you click any of the Lunch Service or Dinner Service entries (except for Friday, April 5th, which isn’t a recurring Dinner Service), you will see what I am saying:

Please advise.

ParticipantHowdy maplecreekdigital,
I am happy to answer your questions.
I have it posted elsewhere, but can anyone tell me if the solution found in (https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/reoccuring-events-out-of-control/) takes care of the duplicated recurring events that I’m seeing?
It is likely that the latest 3.5.1 update will prevent any future duplicate events from being created. I do not believe it will have any effect on past ones though.
Regarding your second reply, that is unfortunately a but that I was just able to reproduce on my test systems. I am very sorry! That is no good at all. I talked it over with my manager and we are attaching a the highest priority to this bug, we want to get it fixed in the next release if possible. That said this problem can be averted right now by going into WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks, and changing the option to anything other than “Default”. Would that work for you in the mean time?
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks!

ParticipantI did get it to work by changing my Permalink configuration. It’s not perfect, because I am currently trying to talk my server admin into adding Pretty Permalink ability in .htaccess, and I fear that he will look at what I have now and say “good enough.” But that is a question of politics and not your problem. Thanks for the reply and the help — it looks like it’s working, so I’m not going to touch anything on this for a few weeks. 🙂

ParticipantDefinitely worth trying to get your server admin to add that capability. It really helps with search engines and so forth, in addition to resolving this.
I do apologize though that this is causing you troubles. If you need anything else from me regarding this please let us know. I truly hate it when bugs like this are a pain for our users, so I want to do all that I can!
I see you have marked this resolved. Feel free to open a new topic should you need anything else.
By the way, if you have a minute or two, we would love it if you could write a few words about the plugin here. Thanks Damon!
