ParticipantJust getting ECP setup on my new site, liking it so far but I’ll probably have a couple of questions while I’m working on integrating it with my setup and theme.
Firstly I was just wondering if there is a way that I could disable or hide fields in the add new event form, specifically I’d like to hide the ‘State or Province’ and ‘Show Google Maps Link’ fields.
Ideally I’d like to also hide the ‘Country’ and ‘City’ fields, but keep the default values set, these fields will always be the same for the website I’m working on.
Also, if it’s possible I’d like the ‘Show Google Map’ option checked by default.
Any help here is greatly appreciated 🙂
Thanks

MemberHappy to help as your questions keep coming, Dale. These are both interesting suggestions. While I don’t have a solution off-hand, I’ve asked our dev Jonah to chime in with anything he might be able to suggest.

ParticipantHey Dale-Anthony,
There’s no way with the plugin to do any of this but you could certainly hide fields with CSS (you’ll have to figure out how to add custom CSS to the WP admin) and to set default values for County and City you should be able to do this via jQuery somehow along with checking the Show Google Map option.
Good luck!

ParticipantYou can make use of Adminimize plugin, it has really good granularity in terms of what to hide, etc.
You can then use firebug to get the the selectors or clases and hide the ones you don’t need

MemberSolid suggestion, Armando. Thanks for sharing.

ParticipantYou are welcome!
One other plugin that works wonders in combination with Adminimize is Members since you can add roles that then you can restrict from just about anything you want.

MemberOh, nice. We’ve had a few users running the Members plugin and I believe I recently worked with it on a client site. Good to know, thanks again dude 🙂
