Disable Auto-Publish Based on Category Selection

Hey Guys,

This one may be out the scope of support but I am hoping you can possibly guide me in the right direction. We currently have our community event submission set to auto-publish, which works great. We also have ‘featured’ and ‘plus’ event that show up differently on the site and require payment prior to posting – so my question is, is there a way to stop the auto-publish based on certain category criteria.

So if the user checks off ‘featured event’ or ‘plus event’ when submitting their even it is set as a draft instead of published.

Any guidance would be great – of if it’s not possible I certainly understand.

You can disregard this question. We found a simple workaround. We will create a similar category and hide the current ‘featured’ and ‘plus’ category so when they auto-publish they don’t show with the other featured and plus until we manually go in and change the category. A simple, but effective solution.
