Hi, the description is missing for the venue page. Is there some setting somewhere that I’ve missed or can anyone suggest any other troubleshooting steps?
I’m using Woothemes Canvas but the issue remains with all plugins disabled (except the calendar) and I tried with the default WordPress 2012 theme.

Hi, morktron. I definitely see the behavior you’re talking about.

Would you mind sending us a link to a screenshot of your venue editing screen? That might help.

    Thanks!

Hi kelly, thanks for getting back to me. Here is a pic of the venue editing screen: http://www.busseltonyoga.com.au/error-pics/no-event.png
it is the same for all venues, thanks

Hi, morktron. Thanks for sending the screenshot. That does indeed look correct.

What happens when you switch themes from Canvas to Twenty Twelve?

Hi Kelly, the issue remains as I said in my first post. I’ve added screenshots to show you, they are all here: http://www.busseltonyoga.com.au/error-pics/
I hope you can help, hopefully it is something simple, thanks again

Hi, morktron. Thanks for posting those screenshots. That really is puzzling.

Would you mind trying, with the same stripped down setup, i.e. everything else deactivated/disabled, to create a new venue with a description and see if the same thing occurs at that point?

    Thanks!

Hi Kelly, yes I had tried that before my original post but no worries, I’ve made another one and here is the screenshot http://www.busseltonyoga.com.au/error-pics/test-venue.png – still no venue description 🙁

Maybe there is some setting somewhere that I’ve inadvertently clicked on and disabled the description? Although from looking at the php in the template files it doesn’t look like it.

How about I send you a copy of the site as a Backupbuddy file?

Hi, morktron. I’m sorry to make you duplicate effort. Thanks for taking the time to try that for us. 🙂

I think at this point, perhaps the simplest thing would be for you to send us admin credentials for your backend in a private reply so that we could poke around and see if we can figure things out. Also, please confirm that we can do things like switching themes when we’re testing.

Thanks for your patience while we help you with troubleshooting!

    Hi Mark,

We’re very sorry for the inconvenience – and thanks for your patience and support so far. Regrettably this is a bug that manifests itself when the Default Events Template is used.

Are you able to switch to the Default Page Template by way of temporary workaround until we can deliver a fix in a future maintenance release?

    Thanks!

Hi Barry, no worries, I’ll just skip the description for now and wait for it to be fixed in a future release (which will hopefully be soon 😉

At least I know it will work eventually and it’s a known bug, thanks again

Not at all, thank you – and we’ll aim to sort this as quickly as we can. For the time being I’ll close this thread. Of course if anything else crops up do feel free to create new threads as needed 🙂
