    PROBLEM: (dates uploading wrong)
#1. When uploading via CSV, the dates of the events are not entering correctly. What format should the dates be (in an excel spreadsheet that will be converted to a CSV) in order to make sure the event actually shows up in the “UPCOMING EVENTS” feed???

    PROBLEM: (multiple categories uploading wrong)
#2. How can we format the “categories” field in that same spreadsheet, so that we can upload multiple categories per EVENT in the same CSV. As of now, the categories only upload a single category at a time. We need to upload via CSV, multiple categories per event entry. How do we achieve this (in an excel spreadsheet that will be converted to a CSV) for both existing and NEW categories, using your uploader?

    PROBLEM: (images uploading wrong)
#3. We paid for the plug-in so that we can upload UNIQUE images for each event correctly via the same CSV? Is this possible or not? We had the actual image and it did not work. So we tried the URL link instead and it still did not work… How can we resolve this?

    SUMMARY OF ALL ISSUES:
#4. We just simply need, the dates, multiple categories, and images to ALL upload correctly via CSV. So that each event will show up in the feed, with images.

    Hi Sam!

Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me help you with each of your questions.

#1. The Event Start/End Date Accepts formatted dates. Preferably use the ISO 8601 date format YYYY-MM-DD as it is unambiguous (ex. 2015-12-31). If you wish to use the North American “middle-endian” format, slashes are recommended (ex. MM/DD/YYYY). If you wish to use the international little-endian format separate it with dashes (ex. DD-MM-YYYY).

#2. You can separate multiple categories with commas. Bear in mind that if you are not exporting your data from Microsoft Excel or a similar tool, make sure to properly escape the field so the commas  are not interpreted as new CSV columns.

#3. It is possible to add a featured image to an event. This should be a direct URL to the image.

As a reference, we have a great article that gives details about the CSV import fields and also provides with CSV file examples > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/

I hope that helps you solve the issues. If you still experience problems with your CSV imports, please share with us a copy of the CSV file you are trying to import. This way we’ll run some tests on our end to see if we can find the problem.

Let us know how that goes.

    Thanks,
    Victor
