ParticipantIs there a way to modify the format or contents of the notification email that is sent to site admins? I don’t see it listed among the available template overrides.
Specifically, I want to change the link to view/edit the event from
http://www.challengeblog.org/events/submit/edit/event/%5Bpostid%5D/
to
http://www.challengeblog.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=%5Bpostid%5D&action=edit

MemberHi Ken,
This is possible however for a number of reasons it’s not particularly straightforward. A possible approach you could explore is setting up a wp_mail filter and amending the content of the $message field if it meets your criteria (ie, it contains the above link to begin with).
I think I see the sense in what you are suggesting though – you want admins to be taken to the admin environment to make edits, right? – and I will suggest as much to our dev team.
Thanks again (and let me know if I’m misunderstanding at all).

ParticipantBarry,
Thanks for the reply! Not only do you understand the situation; I think you understand it better than I do. 🙂 The proposed fix sounds beyond my ken, so I’ll leave it to the dev team for now.

MemberOkey dokey, what I’ll do is update this thread when/if we know that this feature is going to be included (or even if it is going to be rejected), please be aware though that might not be immediate or even something that happens in the next couple of weeks, simply because the team is lazer-focused on the 3.0 build of The Events Calendar.

ParticipantSounds good to me, Barry. Figures they should be focused on TEC 3.0 just as I’ve upgraded to v2.0! 🙂 Any ETA on that next major upgrade?

MemberThat’s the question everyone’s asking! We hope within 2 months, but we can’t give a particularly solid ETA because development is something of a moving target.
We are well into beta testing though, and the feedback and bug reports we are receiving are largely dictating the pace of work right now.
We hope it will be ready soon, though 🙂

ParticipantCool! Thanks for putting up with that question for the umpteenth time. 8)
