The Events Calendar is not compatible with our theme and I could use some help figuring out how to resolve the issue.

I created a copy of the site and tried another theme and it worked fine.

Also another quick question – do we need both events calendar and events calendar pro active to use this?

Lastly on our site under “Licenses” it says that “our license key is out of installs”, and apparently we are running an older version. But on your site it says we are good until Oct 5 of this year on book-it.org.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there @bookitrep,

Thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry to hear about this incompatibility šŸ™

The Events Calendar is not compatible with our theme and I could use some help figuring out how to resolve the issue.

I’d say the best way to get this sorted is to reach out to theme authors and ask them about this. If you are developing the theme yourself let me know what is not working and I’ll try to help out although the support for theme issues e can provide is a bit limited.

Also another quick question – do we need both events calendar and events calendar pro active to use this?

Yes, both plugins need to be active. Events Calendar PRO works as add-on for The Events Calendar.

Lastly on our site under ā€œLicensesā€ it says that ā€œour license key is out of installsā€, and apparently we are running an older version. But on your site it says we are good until Oct 5 of this year on book-it.org

This seems right as the license is configured on the domain bookit.org. If you changed domain names, you can go into your account on out site, once in there go to the licenses page and disconnect the site. Then you should be able to connect the licenses for the new domain.

    Hope that helps,
    Best,
    Nico

I see. The problem is that the theme is no longer supported, so I need to figure out how to resolve the compatibility and was hoping you would help since we purchased the pro version. I understand there is only so much you can do. The calendar does not even show up on our site.

I was able to get the calendar updated, but it still does not show on our website.

    The following errors occur:

tribe-events-ajax-calendar.min.js?ver=4.2.5:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property ‘date’ of undefined

[“TEC Debug: Tribe Events JS init, Init Timer started from tribe-events.js.”]

Thanks for the follow-up @bookitrep, and for clarifying a bit on this issue!

First step to debug this is to look for a 'tribe-events' folder inside your theme folder. If the folder is there, try to rename it to '_tribe-events' and see if this fixes the issue (which might probably be related to an outdated template override). In case renaming the folder works, then try to give the folder the original name and rename the files/folders in it following the same process the get to the file messing the calendar up.

Please let me know if the above helps,
    Best,
    Nico

No luck, no such folder. There is nothing named “tribe” in the code on any pages either.

Thank you SO much Nico! You really went beyond in helping me figure out why I was having an issue with my theme being compatible with your plugin. I can’t believe that after all that you found that just switching to the “default events template” was all that was needed! We are so happy to have our events back!

Hey! Thanks so much for the compliment šŸ™‚

I’m super stocked to hear we could sort this out! Hopefully the solution was quite simple indeed!

I’ll go ahead and close out this thread, but if you need help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create a new one and we will be happy to assist you.

Best of luck with your project,
    Nico
