ParticipantHi, I have just installed Community Events on my Client’s site to provide a front end to their Events Calendar Pro. When I enable CE I’m told that I must install the latest version of “The Events Calendar” and when I click on the link it tells me the Events Calendar is not compatible with their version of WordPress. They are running WordPress 3.5.1 and Events Calendar Pro 1.3.3.
Please advise,
Thanks … KimSeptember 29, 2014 at 9:55 am #775978Brian
MemberHi Kim,
Thanks for purchasing the Community Calendar Add On.
I can help you troubleshoot this.
The current version of the Events Calendar 3.7 requires WordPress version 3.7 (currently WordPress is on 4.0)
You also mention they are using The Events Calendar Pro 1.3.3.
I am afraid that is not going to work with the Events Calendar 3.7.
You are going to need the latest version of the Events Calender Pro, The Events Calendar, and the Community Calendar to all work together and WordPress should at least be 3.7 although 4.0 would be better with its security fixes.
If you do not think you can update everything please let us know and we could refund the Community Events Calendar.
Let us know what you would like to do.
Thanks

ParticipantI finally decided to try to enable Community Events – it wouldn’t work for me last year and I don’t have the patience to debug this stuff, either it works or it doesn’t – and ONCE AGAIN there appears to be an incompatibility issue with versions.
Your site lists compatibilities for versions of this Plug-In in the V 2.x time frame, nothing listed (that I can find EASILY) regarding v3.x.
I just upgraded the basic Events calendar to 3.8. The Pro version is 3.7. Community Events is 3.3. When I activate it, it tells me the versions are incompatible. WP is v3.9. WHEN is this ever going to mesh? I paid for it a year a ago and it still doesn’t work as far as I’m concerned.

ParticipantCorrection – I just upgraded Pro to v3.8. When I upgraded the basic Calendar the warning to upgrade the Pro version didn’t update on my screen. Anyway, same issue. Apparently Community Events 3.3 doesn’t like Events Pro 3.8 or 3.7.

MemberSorry for the issues Dostie,
Is it possible you can update all the Event Calender, The Events Calendar Pro, and The Community Calendar to Version 3.8. That is the current version for all 3.
Your licenses is still good for over a month on the Community Calendar so you should be able to update it.
Your right I do not think we make this clear enough about the compatibility. I will look into clarifying that on your site.
Let me know what you find out and we can go from there.

ParticipantWhere is the update for Community Events to v3.8? It doesn’t register in the Admin Panel of WP, and I don’t see where I can download an updated version on this site? It should be visible from My Account shouldn’t it?

ParticipantSorry to whine so much. It WAS available in My Account. But nonetheless, why doesn’t it show up as a simple upgrade link in my WP admin plug-ins page? Having to download and upload is sooooooo old-fashioned and a PITA.

MemberDostie glad you were able to update, even though you had to do it the 19th century method. ๐
We do have automatic updates, not sure why yours is not working. If the license is already in the settings for Community Calendar please try disconnecting it in your account on tri.be and readding it. If you have any other issues with this or something else please create a new ticket as I am sure docklands does not want to get a notification everytime this thread is updated and it does not relate to docklands’s post. ๐
docklands, let me know if you are still having a problem and I can help out.
Thanks
