GuestHi,
I’m interested on contributing to the Catalan translation. I’ve already created an account in your GlotPress (xavivars).
Can you add me permissions there so my translations are not tagged as suggestions?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Xavi,
Thank you for your interest in translating!
We unfortunately don’t upgrade translator accounts to full admin accounts at this time, but you shouldn’t let the term “Suggestions” dismay you – it might not sound important, but “Suggestions” are actually basically just as good if you were an admin user, and submitted the strings directly. They just have to be approved by an admin, which we can do shortly if you’ve already posted a lot of suggested translations there.
That step may seem unnecessary or annoying, but we care about our translations and don’t want to risk someone coming along and either deleting them or posting spam or junk there.
Let us know if this helps clarify things, or any other thoughts or questions/concerns you may have.
Thank you!

GuestI can give you some “credentials” if you want
* I’m one of the six Catalan editors at WordPress.org
** https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/?locale=ca
* I’m the only Catalan validator for Yoast’s plugins
** https://translate.yoast.com/profile/xavivarsI’m not asking to be “admin” in your GlotPress installation, but validator (and only for Catalan). The reason is that I already have an important % of the Events Calendar plugin translated (I translated the PO file locally before you had the GlotPress installation) and GlotPress allows validators to update PO files. Given the current status of the translation (almost empty), that would be awesome.
If I’m not allowed to upload the PO file, and I have to translate the same hundreds of strings again… that really discourages anyone to contribute to any project…

ParticipantHey Xavi,
If you have a fully-translated .po file, you can upload it here and we can gladly import it for Catalan for the time being.
In the meantime, your comments about the “Validator” user level are interesting and I will forward them to other developers on our team. We’re brand new with GlotPress and still ironing out our process with it, so your patience while we do so means a lot! The “Validator” role sounds really promising and we’d love to bring you in on this. I’ll let you know what we can do.
Thank you Xavi!
