Can I filter the filter?!?

I would like to use certain tags to filter in me new Filter Bar… and certain tags to tag my blog with…

IE

I am listing courses on my website, I want teh filter bar to enable users to identify which classes are suitable for Hen dos or Group bookings etc….

I also wish to tag my blogs with relevant information on what courses I am taking about, like Pottery/ Painting etc (Which are already Event Categorys)… is there a way to filter the filter bar, so I will only get tick boxes for Hen dos/Group bookings etc?
