ParticipantI have created a custom sidebar specifically for my event pages but can’t figure out where to set the sidebar to display on the event pages. When I choose Sidebar Right from the Events template options, it displays my site’s default sidebar. There doesn’t appear to be a way to select a different sidebar to display. Is this easy to code into the calendar template? If so, can you give me an example? Thanks!

MemberHi Leann,
Thanks for you message. Just a few questions so as to understand you issue a little better.
When you say that you have created a custom sidebar for the events page, can you tell me if you have created a template for one (i.e. coded) ? Or that you have done so via the backend of WP by selecting specific widgets to display on the events page. If the latter is the case can you tell me if you are making use of any other plugins to do that?
Once we get that info we’ll be able to dig a little deeper and follow up with some more specific information.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Neill,
Thanks for your reply. First, I just want you and the Modern Tribe team to know how much I love the new version. It’s beautiful right out of the box.The theme I’m using allows for creating custom sidebars.
I created a sidebar called events and dragged some widgets into it but now realize that I probably need to create a custom template that calls that particular sidebar? If that’s the case, the only thing I’m not sure how to call a particular sidebar in a template as opposed to just using

MemberHi Leann,
Was there more to your comment or did we get the most important part above?

ParticipantOops. It should have said “…just using get_sidebar()”.

MemberAh yes. I thought I had the gist of your comment but just wanted to be sure.
In that case then I’ll refer you to our docs for creating your own templates and specifically all the information you’ll need to get started with hooks and filters. This file has all the info you need to get started and to point you in the right direction.
Let me know if there are any specific roadblocks you come across.
