Membereverything working fine in new upgrade of Event Cal and Event Cal Pro version 2.0.10 except when for a major inconvience with working menu items in the add-on. When I click menu from sidebar and choose create New event, new event opens up. I paste in the information I always do, preview it and Post it. Then while still in the edit screen that is there, no matter what menu item I use, whether it is from the sidebar event menu or the add new button on the top of the screen, it closes the tab of IExplorer that I have WP open in.

MemberHi Shawn – what a strange problem. Just to confirm, if you create and publish a new event then click on any Events Calendar menu entries your browser tab closes?
Do you only see this behaviour when using The Events Calendar or does it happen with any built-in or other third party admin pages? Can you also confirm which version of Internet Explorer you are using – and let me know (if possible) if the same problem occurs using other browsers.
Do you have any toolbars, or anything of that order, installed in Internet Explorer that might be interfering?

MemberConfirming your understanding of my problem. Yes you have it correct. I’ll be even more specifc, I can open an event even to edit it…the next menu choice I make, it doesn’t matter what it is WordPress or anything on the sidebar or anywhere else, will closes my browser.
I tried Chrome, it did not happen there. I am using IE version 8 the current version with latest updates. I had roboform and google toolbars active. I deactivated both of them and it still happens. This only happens with Events Calendar Pro, no other third party admin pages.November 9, 2012 at 12:55 pm #27807Barry
MemberThanks for the note Shawn: I will try and replicate this on Monday using Internet Explorer 9 (in IE8 mode).

MemberHi Shawn! Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately I cannot replicate this.
Of course I am using Internet Explorer 9 rather than version 8 and so I have to simulate this by putting IE9 into IE8 mode. That still isn’t comparing apples with apples though, everything from your IE8 build to your operating system and the amount of memory on your PC could be contributing factors.
It does however suggest that this is very much a localized issue; perhaps you would be able to utilize an alternative browser for administrative purposes?

MemberHey Shawn – just checking in here: do you need any further support / have any further questions, bearing in mind that I am unable to see or replicate the issue?

Memberthanks Barry, I just tried the 64-bit version on iexplorere and did not have a problem, nor is there one in Chrome (which I HATE) so I’ll just use the 64-bit version to adminstrate the web site. Thanks for your help on a great program!
