ParticipantIs anyone else having issues after upgrading to WordPress 4.4 with the 4.0 version of the events calendar pro products?
The one thing that is kicking my butt, is inconsistent display, particularly in photo view and safari. However, has happened less frequently with chrome and Firefox.
Symptom is that page loads but images and text are not visible. Hovering the cursor or clicking where they should be links to the events. Have been able to return view ability by blocking on next and previous.
When looking at the safari developer console when this happens, I am finding one or more errors “cannot call methods on isotope prior to initializion, attempted to call method ‘reLayout'”.
It appears to happen mainly so far in Photo view but other views have not all been tried at this point.

ParticipantHowdy Douglas,
The only WordPress 4.4 issue we are aware of was patched in version 4.0.1 of our plugin. It affected the Appearance > Menus page of WP Admin.
If you are seeing issues on the front end, it is more likely they are related to a plugin or theme that is not yet compatible with The Events Calendar 4.x. To find out, this guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting. From there we can contact the authors of these items and let them know there is a conflict, and if they’re willing work with them to resolve it.
Does that all make sense?
Cheers!

ParticipantI have now built a test system and duplicated the errors with 2016 theme and minimal pluggins.
this is the error console from Safari https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B01GtnIORaDLDc;9B8F3108-D1C0-4C55-9471-70049846A0AE
This is an example of what should display top https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B01GtnIORaDLDc;E15A820E-D6D7-4D55-85A7-81452A66087D
and bottom
https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B01GtnIORaDLDc;941AEAD7-4983-4223-873D-6F19BDEEED82This is a capture that related to the error console above top

and bottom
https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B01GtnIORaDLDc;C5548E5E-865F-4692-9C16-21CC98E51160So to clarify the issue again, when viewing upcoming events in photo default display mode, “http://eastbay.rocks/events/”, the first time in you get the correct display of upcoming events without the errors that are shown in the console capture.
if you do anything else on the site and return to the “http://eastbay.rocks/events/” screen, you get the incomplete display of upcoming events with the errors that are shown in the console capture.
as it shows in the screen capture there are both CSS errors
/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/genericons/genericons/genericons.css
bootstrap-date-pickerand .js errors
cannot call methods on isotope prior to initialization; attempted to call method ‘reLayout’
xjquery.isotope.min.js:12:15178When events are not displaying, if click on the find events appear as they should.
I also noticed that the date picker when clicked does not display properly

ParticipantThank you very very much for your thorough debugging, Douglas. I do not have Safari so I can not replicate your steps personally. But we have many on the team who do. I am going to check with one of them and have them take over from here, so they can see the problem and help works towards a resolution for it. We will get back to you tomorrow. Thank you again!

ParticipantWe have confirmed this bug and are going to fix it as soon as we can. We are pretty far along with developing version 4.0.2, so it is quite possible this will not be able to make the cut for that version. However based on my managers response to this bug I’d say it’s practically guaranteed to be fixed by v4.1 at the latest.
Thanks again for the report! We will keep you posted when a fix is being pushed in a new version of the plugin. Cheers!

MemberGood news everyone!
We’ve just release a maintenance release that addresses this issue. Please look for updates to your Events plugin(s) on your site. Thank you for your patience while we worked to address the reported issues. And don’t forget to review the release notes for all the details on version 4.0.3.
While our testing shows that the new release fixes the problem reported here, sites are different and it’s possible that there are edge cases. If you are still seeing the issue after you update your plugins, please post a new thread so we can look into it further.
Thank you for your support!
Best,
