You are absolutely right and we are sorry about this.
We are currently working on a fix so that everything goes back to normal in one of the next upcoming releases.
So keep an eye out for the next updates!
In the meantime, if this is a showstopper for you, perhaps rolling back to the previous version of the plugin might serve as a temporary solution ? I know this is not ideal, but it might help with the transition.
I would gladly guide you in that process if necessary (doing a backup, having a testing environment, etc..).
