Has anyone else figured this out? I saw someone mention this on another thread but then never shared the code! I don’t think this is beyond my realm of coding, but I can’t figure out how the widget itself is even called … Does anyone have a solution ? The client is insistent on this feature … Anyone with any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks!

Hey Anthony. What exactly are you trying to do on the ajax loader front, and which widget were you referencing here? If you can provide some elaboration I’ll do what I can to point you in the right direction.

Hey Rob, thanks for the quick response …

So the dev site is at http://meritdev.agencyea.com/
I would love to be able to call an ajax function that simply loads the previous or next months events into the sidebar widget … I know how to load content via ajax/php, but I haven’t been able to successfully reverse engineer the widget code to figure out the calls …

However, even more crucial than that is my need of a filtering option on the main ‘events’ page (the full calendar page) for the different categories (the client is very insistent upon this) … I haven’t even touched that yet, but is that something someone has hacked before … ? I’m not asking for anyone to do the work for me .. but if the wheel’s already been invented …….

    thanks!

Hey Anthony. Thanks for the follow-up here, and for clarifying your goal. When it comes to the calendar in the sidebar: that is indeed (intentionally) pretty bare bones at this point, as we just added so it we had one in place for the initial 2.0 launch. We have had a flood of requests to incorporate exactly what you’ve noted here. While it’s more complex customization than we’re able to provide on the forums, we are A) looking into putting up a tut on how to do it in the short-term, so users can customize to make it possible; and B) adding this in an official capacity somewhere during the 2.1 or 2.2 lifecycle. You may be able to hack it together currently but it’s unfortunately outside the realm of what I can get a dev to share here in the thread. My apologies for not being able to offer up something in the short-term on that front.

As for your second request, on the events calendar filtering. If I understand that correctly it sounds like this thread should cover what you’re going for: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/wp_dropdown_categories/. Can you read through it and confirm?
