I currently have events populated for the site under “Events” (/events-upcoming and /events-previous). Events created in this section will be left as-is with a redirect (plugin) to the new landing page using the PRO plugin.

How can I activate the plugin and begin to populate new events in the calendar without going ‘live’ or disrupting the existing events in the database? Will the plugin see all of the events currently in the system and add them to the calendar?

UPDATE 3/14: here is screen shot of what is happening http://screencast.com/t/lTl4q6eWmpMw

    Hi gohwebmaster,

Thanks for getting in touch. I’m not entirely sure I understand what you said about redirecting. Events Calendar PRO is an add-on for The Events Calendar. It essentially works on top of The Events Calendar- you won’t have a second calendar, just the same one with more features. So you won’t be able to redirect to a calendar showing only your old events, unless you do some customizing.

When you activate Events Calendar PRO, all your original events will remain on your site and working. You should not lose any data or have an disruptions. Does that clear things up for you?

    Best,

    Leah

When I activated the plugins I was viewing the event details in the same manner as they appeared before (in the theme), not in the new format with the plugin (PRO). In the admin panel I have two sections “Events” … the PRO is near the top (no events, existing categories appear) and the normal WP is further down (which has the existing events and existing categories).
