ParticipantHaving a strange 404 issue with recurring events.
See this page: https://cityofwinterpark.org/event/market-park-afternoon/all/If you click though to any event in the future, it leads to https://cityofwinterpark.org/all/. This only seems to happen with recurring events that are in the future.
If you try to navigate to a specific future recurring event, this is what happens:
http://cityofwinterpark.org/?tribe_events=market-park-lunchtime&eventDate=2015-05-05
Redirects to:
http://cityofwinterpark.org/?tribe_events=market-park-lunchtime&eventDisplay=allI’ve tried all of the following to debug this issue:
1) Uninstalled all plugins with the exception of The Events Calendar, The Events Calendar: Filter Bar, The Events Calendar PRO.
2) Switched to the default 2013 theme.
3) Turned to the default permalink structure.
4) Created a series of new test events recurring for the next 12 weeks. In each of these cases, the problem persists. I thought at first it was a data problem, but since I created brand new events and the problem is still there, I’m not so sure.

MemberHi there,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been experiencing difficulties – and thanks for the details about the troubleshooting steps you ran through. While I don’t want to cover stuff you have already checked out, in the first instance I would like to ask that you double check a couple of things:
- Looks like you have WP SEO by Yoast running – can you look at the redirect list managed by that plugin and find and delete any inappropriate rules that might be causing this?
- Can you also check out your .htaccess file (normally found in the root of your WordPress installation) and look for any atypical rules contained within it? If you’re unsure, please feel free to share it by copying and pasting it to Pastebin/Gist/some similar service and sharing the link here
Thanks!

ParticipantI have disabled the SEO plugin and tested it by accessing one of the entries and it was still broken taking me to the oops page.
We don’t have .htaccess since we are in a Windows environment but we do have web.config. Nothing is out of the ordinary there in my point of view. We only have redirections from the old URLs to the new URLs.
The code in the web.config translates to the GUI version of URL Rewrite settings.
I also have a copy of the site locally running on wamp, which is apache and uses .htaccess files. Problem is present there too, so it’s not a Windows bug from the looks of it.

MemberThanks for the extra details ๐
So what if you create a fresh WordPress installation locally, via WAMP, and initially install nothing beyond the WordPress defaults except for our plugins and then create a couple of test events — does the problem occur then, too?
If it does, can you confirm if that site is running in the web root (ie, at http://localhost) or within a subdirectory (ie, http://localhost/events-test) or some other combination (like accessible from the root, but with the core WP files living in a subdirectory)?
Problem is present there too, so itโs not a Windows bug from the looks of it.
Well, the thing is that both those environments are Windows-based (only the web server software is different, the operating system is the same) so that’s not necessarily true.
Just to round out my picture of the live hosting environment in particular, though, are you able to tell me which version of IIS you are running? What are the respective versions of each operating system (on the live server and your local machine which is running WAMP)?

ParticipantBarry,
Here’s the information on the windows server that the site is running on:
`IIS version 7 on a Windows Server 2008 64-bit, PHP 5.5.14 for Windows and MySQL Server 5.6When i create a fresh installation of WordPress in WAMP and create future recurring events, they work fine with both the default WordPress themes as well as our custom City Of Winter Park theme.
Local WAMP is running Apache/2.4.9 (Win32) PHP/5.5.12 | MySQL 5.6.17
So I wonder, could this be a database issue?

MemberThat’s certainly a possibility. If on this fresh local installation you add and activate all of the same plugins – and ultimately your theme – as on the live site, does the problem return or does everything continue to work as expected (please do create a new set of recurring events to test with once everything is in place)?

ParticipantI am having the same issue. 404 not found for recurring events that are in the future.
http://fullcirclevenice.com/events/2015-04/I have 3 recurring events.
For the first one, I deleted all the future events, then readded the recurring event. That seemed to work. But I can’t be doing that all the time.Do you know what is causing this?

MemberHi Tiffany,
We are always happy to help but we ask that you create a new forum topic of your own (since it can become confusing if we have to help two customers at different stages of the troubleshooting process, or if the underlying problem turns out to be quite different).
Thanks!
