ParticipantI agree, that response is the first that has made me seriously reconsider using this calendar and logged in here expressly to say I think that is bullshit. The thread grew quite large because of the number of people who have encountered this problem and tried to supply you with information to help address the issue. You had another thread opened last month for exactly the same problem. I would rather see this addressed than add new features.
I will work around the problem as long as it appears that you are taking this seriously and working to fix the problem. This takes a lot of my time, between manually importing all of the events and the time spent deleting duplicate events, event images and organizers if I forget to remove everything from FB import. I have no idea why you cannot duplicate this problem when so many of your users have the same problem.

ParticipantNico,
Thanks for your help. I only mentioned the issue we run into when putting all of the pages in because this is what caused us to stop automating event imports, I created a separate thread for this several weeks ago when the problem originally came up.When we stopped automating imports, we no longer had events getting duplicated. For us the two unrelated problems are linked in that it is a question of which we prefer to deal with.
Someone else mentioned that they thought events being duplicated was the result of the FB event being updated, I don’t think that is the problem. One of the pages we import from we also manage; we tried updating a couple of the events to see what would happen. These did not duplicate even when we automated things, BUT another page we import from had three out of five event from their FB page duplicate even though they didn’t updated any of them.

ParticipantDouglas, thank you for the quick response. We tried that a month or so ago when that started being an issue but then everything on the site went wonky, we reverted back to the previous settings while looking at our options. But…that shouldn’t cause multiple instances of each event when we have all of the pages in. We tried several other options and honestly prefer this plugin. If necessary I can keep going through every day or two to manually have it check small groups of pages, but it would be great if I could have it check the pages all of the pages without having to do anything (including going back and deleting duplicates).

ParticipantSo…as much as we like this plugin, it does seem like there are some bugs with the facebook importer. We have 39 pages we import from right now, there are another 30 that we should have. If we have this automated, we can only have 5 or 8 pages listed before we lose access the Events: Import: Facebook tab on the back end. If we have more pages then that set for automatic import, we get error messages when trying to access the Facebook Import page and cannot get on that page until we bring down the number of pages it is set to import from.
Yesterday we tried going from only having five pages at a time to all 39 again, over night we ended up with 32 events that imported in duplicate.
We are using the Avada theme, it is my understanding that this theme does not conflict with the plugin. We also deactivated all other plugins and still had both of these issues occur, doesn’t that mean the problem is with the plugin?

ParticipantGeorge,
Thank you for your response. Everyone tells me it’s not their fault, go talk to someone else, but no one has any suggestions as to where to look for a solution. If you can point me toward a solution to go to someone else with, I’ll happily listen to you say it’s not your fault! We have our site as a managed wordpress site through Go Daddy.
