It looks like what is needed is to just use the same functional structure, but instead of outputting the block, just not have an output if the event is emoty.

Hi, Thanks for the input –I am actually looking for, well, much less output than that.

-Event name
-Date
-Time

and that’s about it, so I can wrap my own content around it.

I have only rudimentary skills with PHP :/

Looking at that file you pointed at I only see the outputs for each day of the week, but not a way to remove the parent element of <.this-week-no-events-msg>

Ah, that did it. It looks like I had done an update on the core which caused a compatibility flag to be thrown.
