Thanks Barry, got it sorted now. Took a bit of experimental CSS copying and pasting from an existing sidebar page but got it looking right. No idea if it’s exactly right, and not looking forward to cross browser testing with IE, but it looks OK. Thanks again, great support here!

Hi Barry, thanks for your help! I’ve checked out both the Themer’s Guide and the WordPress Codex, plus some other online tutorials regarding adding a sidebar but I still can’t get my head around it. The sidebar keeps ending up somewhere on the page and not down the side. My PHP knowledge is very limited (designer as opposed to coder) and although this plugin is exactly what I want I am struggling with customising it. The theme I’m using is MayaShop by YITH, would it help to ask them?

Big thanks to Brook and graphicscoop! Mine is now working and it was indeed the theme override which when renamed got the List Event working, then by removing the widgets/list-widget.php file I was able to remove the ‘-bak’ previously added to the override folder and the Events List still shows up as it should. Fortunately I don’t need to (at the moment) edit that .php file so removing it isn’t a problem but this may not be the case for everyone or myself in the future. This is a great plugin and suits my purposes very well but I can see that to really customise it how I want I’m either going to have to learn PHP or pay someone to get under the bonnet. Either way, current issue of Event List not working is now sorted, thanks again!

That worked! Changed the theme override folder name and that fixed it. Obviously lost all the customisations so my question now, is there another way around this or are you planning a fix in the next update? Thanks anyway, John.

Thanks for the detailed fix Brook and I followed your instructions just like wswebstuff and had exactly the same result, Calendar works, List doesn’t. Even after the 3.6.1 update this morning. Any other suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for all your replies but I’m still getting the problem – I deleted all occurrences of all Event widgets, refreshed the site then added just the Events List and the same problem appeared. The theme is MayaShop from YITH using a child theme. When you say ‘save any existing widget area’, I’m not sure what you mean as the widget pane has no save feature, does it automatically when widgets are added/removed. Perhaps it’s this bit I’m not doing right??
