ParticipantThanks for the reply. I do not think that I can utilize css as temporary workaround in my case. I have wp_debug turned on. Please see the error generated here: http://dev.hubsaltlake.com/event/kickstarter-countdown-celebration-8/
Thanks.

ParticipantThanks for trying to help me out Barry. I’ve gotten rid of the header.php error. The links in the widget are taking me to correct pages but once there I’m seeing this error: Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/content/48/10736248/html/dev/wp-includes/link-template.php on line 248
class=”single single-tribe_events postid-290 logged-in ?page_id=-9999 events-single singular”>And I still have the Blog and Events nav links having the active class set at the same time.
Are you willing to take a quick look at our dev site? We purchased events brite plugin but we will be sure to get Events Cal Pro as well. Plus I’ll do what I can to promote the plugin. Whatever we can do…. just really need the help. Thanks.

ParticipantOk. I have updated the plugin and followed the proper steps successfully. The Events link is being activated on the twenty twelve theme. So now my problem seems to be with the Roots theme. Though I know you do not provide support for other themes I’m going to post my error, just in case you have an obvious solution for me. Plus I think Roots is a pretty popular theme (I may be wrong). My error: Theme without header.php is deprecated since version 3.0 with no alternative available. Please include a header.php template in your theme. in C:\wamp\www\hub-test\wp-includes\functions.php on line 2883

ParticipantI’m still having this issue. I changed themes to twenty twelve, removed the Events link, then added back to the menu in the manner you described above… What could I be doing wrong? It has to be something simple since I am testing on a bare bones theme with no other plugins.

ParticipantOne other thing to note is that in the out-of-the-box WP scenario I am only experiencing the Events link not going to an active state and the dead widget links issue. But the Blog link is not being set to active as it is in the Roots theme.

ParticipantBarry, thanks so much for responding.
To answer your questions:
1. The menu is the default menu wrapped into the Roots theme.
2. I add a link by creating an Events page (in my testing I create the page with Default WP template; I don’t do anything other than to add the title Events and let it auto generate an /events url). I then add the link to our Primary Navigation within the WordPress Menu interface. This is the procedure I followed with wordpress 2012 theme with no other themes or plugins (other than Events Calendar) and absolutely no code modifications.
I’ll attempt once more with out of the box WP and see if I have left out any steps I go through to create menu item in navigation.
Thanks again! Our team will be so happy once this is solved.

ParticipantWill someone acknowledge this support request please? Would just like to either know if anyone has deemed it worthy of replying to or not. Just so I know where I stand and if I will be on my own with this one. Having replicated at least a portion of my issue on a 2012 theme without any customization or plugins other than the Events Calendar tells me that something needs changed on your end. Am I wrong?

ParticipantI setup a fresh install of WordPress locally.
Left default twenty twelve theme in place.
Installed only the Events Calendar 3.0 plugin.
Added Events page.
Changed permalink structure to postname.
Checked front end. Event text in navigation is not going bold / not going into an active state.
Added Home and Blog pages.
Set these as Static pages.
Added two dummy events.
Added events widget to home page.
Viewed home page. Clicked event headings in widget. Nothing happens. Stays on home page.
Click events nav link. Takes me to calendar successfully but does not throw Event link into active state.
Upload and change theme to Roots theme.
Now when clicking Events link in main nav the Blog link goes into active state.
I’ve tried re-saving permalinks along with other things and nothing works. I feel I have proved that there is an issue with bare bones wordpress + this plugin, along with certain permalink and static page configs…
Hope to hear from you soon.hubsaltlake
ParticipantI disabled wp debug so the above link will not show error output. Here is the error text: Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/content/48/10736248/html/wp-includes/link-template.php on line 248

ParticipantHello, I’m having the same problem: http://hubsaltlake.com (widget links, bottom center of footer)
I have tried deactivating other plugins. Still have the issue.
Also, the Blog link in our nav is being activated when viewing Events.
No core files have been altered.
All of this happened last night when we installed Eventbrite ticket plugin. I’m assuming our Event Calendar plugin was updated at the same time since we are showing 3.0 (not sure what version we had before).
Eager to hear back. If we need to upgrade to pro version, happy to do it. Especially if it gets us quick support to fix this issue. Thanks! -
