    Hi!

I’d like to translate these 3 things to Portuguese:
    – “Organizer Name” to “Nome do Organizador”
    – “Currency Symbol” to “Moeda”
    – “Cost” to “Preço”

While they are actualizated where can I find those files to translate?

    Thanks

And please this 2 also need to be translated:
    – LOCAL DETAILS to “Detalhes do Local”
    – ORGANIZADOR DETAILS to “Detalhes do Organizador”

Here is the page with these needs:

    Hi there, Luciane!

You can update that text in the language files for the Community Events plugin. Here’s an outline for how to update language files that you might find helpful. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Geoff!

I saw the portuguese file and it has all the correct translation but my plugin seams to be not working well because the new event form has some words in english. I always have my site in Portuguese configuration (Settings>General). What can I do to correct my translation?

    Thanks
    Luciane

    Hi Luciane!

Have you compiled the .po file into a .mo file? The translations won’t take hold until the .mo file has been created.

    Cheers!

    Geoff

I didn’t have to change any po or mo file because when I checked the files that are already at my host the translation ir correct.

So I don’t understand why I have some parts of my new event page that are not correct… For example:
    – LOCAL DETAILS should be DETALHES DO LOCAL
    – Local Name should be Nome do Local
    – ORGANIZADOR DETAILS should be DETALHES DO ORGANIZADOR
    – Organizador Name should be Nome do Organizador
    – Currency Symbol should be Símbolo da Moeda
    – Cost should be Preço

But if you check my page this phrases are still in English and not in Portuguese (BR): http://trilheiros.net/calendario/comunidade/add

And again this phrases were all correct at the languages files.

So how can I correct this?

    Thanks

    Hey Luciane!

Have you checked the language files for The Events Calendar and Community Events? That would be the place to make sure the translations strings are correct across the board for the calendar.

You can find and update the translations in those files, or you can also check out a plugin like Say What, which allows you to change strings without having to touch code.

I hope this helps! Otherwise, perhaps a member of the community here would be happy and willing to contribute those updates so we can add them to an upcoming release. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Geoff,

I already told you that I checked the language files for The Events Calendar and Community Events and both are correct…

I don’t understand why I have some parts of my new event page that are still in English and not in Portuguese (BR).

    Thanks

    Hi Luciene,

My apologies–I mistook your last reply to mean that you had checked your WordPress translation files instead of the files for the plugins. Sorry about that!

Were you able to give the Say What plugin a try to see if that makes a difference?

We largely depend on contributions from the community to keep translations for the plugins updated. If the plugin above doesn’t help sort things out, I’ll leave this thread open a while longer to see if anyone else has more input to provide.

    Cheers!

    Geoff,

It never happened to other client this situation? When the translated files are correct but the pages still have some mistakes? Because this is awkward… you have translated well but somehow it doesn’t show correctly.

What are the text domain for the new event page? The Say What pluging ask for this information.

    Hello Luciane,

I am taking over for Geoff.

Those strings are not translated in the latest versions of Community, unfortunately. I realize that you are seeing similar ones in your .po and .mo files, but they are not the actual strings. You are likely seeing a translation for “Cost” not the latest “Cost:”. Unfortunately even minor changes like that impact things.

Would you like to update the translation? You can do this by following the guide Geoff linked in his first response. One important step will be updating from the latest .pot file, which will show you the strings that need translating. If you share the updated pt_BR.po file with the community here, we will give you a free license to the plugin of your choosing. 🙂

Does that all make sense? Does it fully answer you questions? Cheers!

    Hi Brook!

Are these https://cloudup.com/cgakV5654g3 the latest .pot files? Because when I opened them the last time they appeared to be correct.

No problems, I can translate them I already translated my theme!

No problem, I can translate them I have already translated my theme! And I would appreciate a lot if you can give me the next year license of my community events! 🙂

    Thanks

    Howdy again Luciane,

Your link does appear to contain the latest pot file. When I open up pt_BR in Poedit, then on my Windows PC I mouse over the Catalog menu and click “Update from POT file…” When that happens I will see those strings in need of translation as pictured here. With that completed it is ready for translation. 🙂

You can definitely get another year added. No worries there. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for offering to do the translation!

    Hi Brook!

Here is what I saw when I click to “Update from POT file…” at Poedit from that link: file:///Users/Lili/Desktop/Captura%20de%20Tela%202015-05-18%20às%2013.08.36.png

The translate seams to be done and correct.

    Best regards
