GuestThe calendar adjusts when options are selected within the filter, however each category (Event Category, Organizer, Venue, Time, Cost) do not adjust based on the available events. If I select an Event Category the remaining filters stay the same and do not adjust the available options. Are the filters themselves supposed to adjust based on the selection?
If I select Arts & Culture as the Event Category, I am still presented with all Organizer and Venue options even though there are no Arts & Culture events attributed to them. Should the options available under the filters change with each option selected? (similar to Amazon, where options are removed the more specific you get)OS 10.7.5 Safari 6.0.5 WordPress 3.6.1 Theme: Avada 2.1.3 (themefusion) Plugins: Events Calendar Pro 3.0.5, Events Community 3.0.1, Events Category Colors 3.0.3

MemberHi guys,
At this time, the filters themselves do not adjust as you go. However, the Category and Tag filters only show options that have upcoming events. But all the Organizers and Venues are shown, regardless of whether there’s an associated event. So while this isn’t a bug per se, it is definitely something that could be improved (and I’ve ticketed in internally as such).
Thanks,

GuestLeah,
I checked to see if the Event Categories were only displaying with upcoming events in those categories and am sad to report that they still appear without any associated events.
For example: I have an Event Category for “Religion & Spirituality”, there are no events (past or present) tagged into this category. It still shows up as an option in the filters, as do all of my 15 Event Categories.

MemberThanks Greg! That’s different from what I saw in my testing, so I really appreciate the report.

Guestoops…. my mistake.
I found an old test event that did have the category checked.
Deleted the event and it was removed from the options.Nice job on the filter plugin.

GuestLeah,
I did notice however that the Event Category options still appear when there are only past events available for that Category.Example: I have only 1 event from last month in (Literary & Talks) but no future events in that category, the option still shows up. Is there a way to have past events no affect the display of an Event Category? Most people looking at the calendar are seeking future events, not past.

Thanks

MemberVery good to know!
There isn’t a way to change what shows up right now (at least not without customizing the plugin). However, I’ve ticketed this so we can discuss adding “smarter” filter options. I don’t know if it will be included in the main release, but if not I will definitely lobby for it to be added ASAP.
