Translate The Events Calendar 3.0, get a free license

We’re just around the corner from launching The Events Calendar / Events Calendar PRO 3.0, and one of the last pre-release tasks on our list is getting translations nailed down. We’re planning a week after code freeze to focus exclusively on getting the plugin translated, and are hoping our multilingual users might be down to help out.

If you are familiar with POEdit and know how to translate a plugin, we’ll be happy to give you a coupon for a free PRO 3.0 personal license (which you’ll be able to redeem upon release) in exchange for completed .po/.mo files for The Events Calendar & Events Calendar PRO. If you don’t want 3.0 feel free to help yourself to a personal license for any add-on of your choosing instead.

Right now we’ve got volunteers lined up for the following languages:

  • Arabic (ar)
  • Bosnian (bs_BA)
  • Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR)
  • Catalan (ca)
  • Croatian (hr_HR)
  • Czech (cs_CZ)
  • Danish (da_DK)
  • Dutch (nl_NL)
  • German (de_DE)
  • French (fr_FR)
  • Hebrew (he_IL)
  • Italian (it_IT)
  • Japanese (ja_JP)
  • Norwegian (nb_NO)
  • Polish (pl_PL)
  • Portuguese (pt_PT)
  • Romanian (ro_RO)
  • Serbian (sr_RS)
  • Spanish (es_ES)
  • Swedish (sv_SE)
  • Turkish (tr_TR)
  • Ukranian (uk)

If a language isn’t on the list above, consider it up for grabs. We ask that everyone volunteering confirm they’ll be available during the week we’ve scheduled. Though not set in stone, we’re planning that to be either the week of April 15-19 or April 22-26. We’ll confirm in writing once that has been established…but until then, to be safe, please don’t volunteer unless you’re available for both.

Translations are a community effort, and we appreciate everyone who volunteers. As we wind down the 2.x lifecycle we’ve got a great batch of translation files available for the plugin. While those will unfortunately be rendered obsolete with the new release, our goal is to launch 3.0 with as many languages as possible. Let us know if you’re down to help make that happen.
