Hi,<\/p>\n

I have tried to install the new versions of events calendar pro and Advanced Post Manager with the german translation but eventually I decided to revert back to the pre 3.10 version because of inconsistencies in the translation.<\/p>\n

The problem with crowd sourcing the translations are two-fold:<\/p>\n

1) they are not consistent.<\/p>\n

2) They do not take the context into consideration.<\/p>\n

For instance: “upcoming”. Could be anstehend, bevorstehend, kommend. Past events could be: vergangene, vorherige, vorige. Someone has to decide which phrase to take and then use it troughout the translation. This is not the case here.<\/p>\n

Same with context: it seems that the phrases have been translated in an isolated setting. But you have to look at the layout element where they appear. A translation can be wrong in another context, and this is what happend here in several cases.<\/p>\n

What to do?<\/p>\n

I am afraid, you have to assign one german speaking person to have a look at all of the translations and streamline this.<\/p>\n
