Hi, <\/p>\n

So… I will just explain my particular use case, and then maybe extract a more general question from there:<\/p>\n

I do a lot of Church websites, and often find I need to display the upcoming services in a box or similar on the front page (think widget rather then the full calendar. ) Since the main service is often on Sundays, it makes most sense to display the services ordered by week, one week at a time<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Selecting just the type of events I need can easily be done using categories (and then filtering in the widget. )
\nBut since the number of services (events) will differ from week to week (Ie: some weeks may have a wednesday service that should be included on the front page, other weeks might not) simply limiting the number of events by number, doesn’t really work. <\/p>\n

In plain english the extra filter I am looking for would be something like:
\nDisplay only events from [ this category ]<\/em> that are happening [this current week]<\/em><\/p>\n

And, this need to be on the front page, or in a widget of some kind, so that I don’t have to use the full calendar pages. <\/p>\n
