{"id":56884,"date":"2013-07-24T10:22:15","date_gmt":"2013-07-24T17:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tri.be\/support\/forums\/topic\/custom-templates-showing-two-events\/"},"modified":"2015-07-07T06:27:07","modified_gmt":"2015-07-07T13:27:07","slug":"custom-templates-showing-two-events","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/support\/forums\/topic\/custom-templates-showing-two-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Custom Templates Showing Two Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m trying to use custom events template but the page loads two events, the first with an ID of -9999 (which of course doesn&#8217;t exist) and the second being the correct one.<\/p>\n<p>You should be able to easily reproduce this by simply copying the &#8216;default-template.php&#8217; file from &#8216;\/plugins\/the-events-calendar\/views\/&#8217; to &#8216;\/themes\/mytheme\/&#8217; and insert the line &#8220;Template Name: My Event Template&#8221; to make WordPress see it as a template.<\/p>\n<p>Once you change the events template in &#8220;The Events Calendar Settings &gt; Display&#8221; you should see that it now renders two templates.
