I have noticed some other discussion about this issue, notably at:

\nHowever I am not really able to follow the thread. My situation, apparently like others, is that I used to be able to select which sidebar I wanted for the events listings. Now I can’t. It is not clear to me what I need to do to change that, and also will whatever I do be protected against future upgrades. To me this is a huge encumbrance. This site makes very aggressive use of the calendar, and to have this functionality disabled is very bad for our user experience. What will be most helpful for me is to know what additions need to be made to what files, and exactly where in the file to place it. I hope there is a simple answer.
