However, when we upgraded to WordPress 4.8.2 we lost the events on our calendar so had to update both Events Calendar plugins and since then opening a recurring event to edit in WordPress admin takes a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Having read other forum posts I can see this is a known issue. Creating a new recurring event doesn&#8217;t have this problem and editing an existing non-recurring event is also fine. I&#8217;ve disabled all plugins and reverted back to the Twenty Fourteen theme and still no joy. I&#8217;ve tried opening one of the affected events and re-saving to rebuild the recurring dates but that didn&#8217;t work.
