{"id":1315758,"date":"2017-07-04T01:57:22","date_gmt":"2017-07-04T08:57:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/support\/forums\/topic\/showing-all-past-events\/"},"modified":"2017-07-04T01:57:22","modified_gmt":"2017-07-04T08:57:22","slug":"showing-all-past-events","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/support\/forums\/topic\/showing-all-past-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Showing all past events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi<\/p>\n<p>We are using this plugin on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ahti.nl\/events-2\/\">https:\/\/ahti.nl\/events-2\/<\/a> using the shortcode  <code>[tribe_events view=&quot;photo&quot; tribe-bar=&quot;false&quot; date=&quot;2017-01&quot;]<\/code><\/p>\n<p>However, we want to have the Upcoming Events in a block at the top of the page and the Past Events in a block at the bottom of the page.<br \/>\nIf we remove the date specifier in the shortcode we end up with a link to past events, but we want the to display on the page.<\/p>\n<p>As we are using a page builder for this page, Beaver Builder, I decided to write a custom extension to directly access the Posts table using <code>WP_Query<\/code> to create this functionality. However, the Events Calendar plugin hijacks\/extends the <code>parse_query()<\/code> function for ALL query requests related the <code>tribe_events<\/code> post_type and adds a <code>WHERE<\/code> clause that prevents the query from retrieving any events in the past.
